Italian President arriving in Malta tomorrow for two-day visit

Sergio Mattarella, Italian President will be arriving in Malta tomorrow for a two-day visit.

During his stay, Mattarella will be liasing with President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca and Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and will also visit a number of Maltese cultural sites, including the Hypogeum.

Coleiro Preca visited Mattarella last January in Rome, during which they discussed the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union as well as themes to be discussed during their September meeting.

Mattarella’s last state visit to Malta was in 2015, during which bilateral relations, the situation in the Mediterranean, including migration and EU developments were discussed.
