A foreign news website has reported that PM Joseph Muscat has been hospitalised in New York.

The office of the Prime Minister has categorically denied the report, saying that the website "does not seem to have any credentials."

Earlier today, Head of Communications Kurt Farrugia tweeted that the news report was fake.

Chief of Staff Keith Schembri denounced the report, tweeting out a picture of Muscat after a workout.

“Great workout with Joseph Muscat, after reading the FAKE news that he is in hospital,” Farrugia said.

Muscat is currently in New York, where he addressed the United Nations General Assembly earlier this week.
