PN executive member says leadership election should be declared 'null and void'

The election of PN leader Adrian Delia should be declared “null and void fortwith”, argued PN executive committee member Caroline Galea.

The PN candidate also called for an internal inquiry to be conducted immediately, following reports that showed the commission had accused MP Jean Pierre Debono of handling proxies with votes using falsified signatures.

“Since there is a serious allegation involving the possibility of vote rigging/ influencing of votes in the election of the PN Leader, this election should be declared null and void forthwith and an internal inquiry conducted with urgency,” she said.

Galea called on newly elected leader Adrian Delia to earn the respect of councillors by “showing the extent of your measure of principles, good governance and transparency.”

Meanwhile, PN candidate Kevin Cassar, who is the son-in-law of former PN leader Eddie Fenech Admai and the brother-in-law of outgoing deputy leader Beppe Fenech Adami, also took to social media to declare his resignation from the party.
