Nurses Union suspend industrial action

Industrial action which was meant to start tomorrow has been suspended after an agreement was reached between the Minister of Health and the MUMN

The Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses have suspended industrial action which was to start from tomorrow.

In a short statement, the Health Ministery said that it had reached an agreement with the MUMN on how negotiations should progress.

Nurses were due to strike from tomorrow after the MUMN threatened to take action when the Government did not offer sufficient agreements.

The directives which were to take place included nurses and midwives not washing patients, not joining in ward rounds and even refusing to help transfer patients if not in intensive care.
