A second demonstration will be held on Sunday in Sliema to demand the resignations of Police Commissioner Lawrence Cutajar and Attorney General Peter Grech in the wake of Daphne Caruana Galizia's murder.

The demonstration is the second to be organised by the Civil Society Network and comes a week after the well-attended manifestation held in Valletta.

The demonstration will start at 4pm from near the Chalet at Ghar id-Dud in Sliema and walk all the way to Amery street, once described by Caruana Galizia in her blog as the "pepe heartland".

The organisation said speakers at the event will be announced "shortly" and insisted the front rows should not be occupied by political party leaders and members of parliament. It said the manifestation was non-partisan and insisted placards depicting political party messages would be strictly prohibited.

The group said "its non-partisan demands for the resignation of the police commissioner and the attorney general, and for their replacements subject to two-thirds parliamentary majority" would be reiterated.

The demonstration will be non-partisan, and all speakers will be announced shortly. Everyone is invited to attend but front rows cannot be occupied by party leaders or members of parliament. Political party or anti-party banners, placards or other material will be strictly prohibited.

Last Sunday's demonstration in Valletta was attended by thousands although some felt the choice of speakers and certain messages had betrayed the non-partisan message it tried to send out.

At the end of the demonstration a breakaway group held a sit-in protest in front of the police headquarters in Floriana where a banner depicting Cutajar's face was pelted with tomatoes and money as people called for his resignation.
