It was more important than ever that, in this critical moment, political parties worked together for Malta’s reputation, and discussed their ideas in the interest of the people, Nationalist Party leader Adrian Delia said today, in a meeting with Alternattiva Demokratika, held at the latters’ request.

An AD delegation lead by Chairperson Carmel Cacopardo met with Nationalist Party officials, at PN headquarters today, to discuss the current political situation in Malta, which Cacopardo said was causing Malta to start experiencing reputational problems on an international level. Malta’s already weak institutions were being weakened further, he maintained.

Delia said that it was through their differences in opinion that political parties could represent the full diversity of the country’s people, and he was happy to maintain dialogue with AD which could lead to the change with our country needed.

Cacopardo, mirroring Delia’s view, maintained that our country was going through a situation which required that political parties constantly engage with each other.

He added that it was now urgent that a convention for the reformation of the constitution be convened.
