Castille protesters tell Keith Schembri: ‘You cannot hide forever’

A small group of protestors called 'Il-Kenniesa' gathered outside Castille to urge the Prime Minister's chief of staff to attend a meeting with EU delegation

In a protest which took place outside of Castille this morning, a group called Il-Kenniesa came together to ‘remind’ Keith Schembri about an invitation from the EU to discuss his involvement with Panama companies.

Despite the fact that the Prime Minister had responded to a similar request, Mr Schembri is yet to do so.

The group expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that Mr Schembri was not democratically chosen, and was instead picked by the Prime Minister.

They held signs which read ‘We stand against crooks,’ referring to the Chief of Staff’s entanglement in setting up secret companies in Panama, and ‘Why are you hiding from the EU, Mr.Schembri?’.

The group also placed signs at the European Commission Representation in Malta in St. Paul’s Street, including a ‘reminder’ for Schembri’s meeting with MEPs.
