A massive police raid on a Birkirkara warehouse led to the arrest of 14 people on Thursday morning.

The warehouse is situated in Triq il-Vittmi tal-Gwerra and is believed to have been used to sell heroin.

Police said the 14 men ranged from 23 to 66 years of age, and were of Maltese, English, Italian and Serbian nationality.

An unspecified quantity of heroin sachets were found in the warehouse.

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli is leading the inquiry.
