North Korea signals more plans for missile launches

North Korea says its firing of a missile over  Japan was “the first step” of military operations in the Pacific.

The missile launched last Tuesday crossed Japan’s northern Hokkaido island, ultimately landing in the sea.

In the past few days, North Korean state media repeatedly made threats to the US pacific Island of Guam, which it called “ an advanced base of invasion”.

 Meeting on Tuesday in New York, the UN Security Council condemned North Korea for its actions, calling the launch “outrageous” and also demanding North Korea to cease all missile testing.

North Korea is barred from launching missiles under UN rules although in the past few months it has repeatedly conducted missile launches.
