Several people have been injured in a car incident near London’s Natural History Museum.

The driver has been detained at the scene.

Reuters reported that a car mounted the pavement outside the city’s museum.

The motive of the incident is not yet known.

Police have not yet confirmed whether the incident is being considered to be a terrorist attack.

The museum took to Twitter to confirm the incident.

“There’s been a serious incident outside the Museum. We are working wtih [The Metropolitan Police] and will provide an update when we have more information,” it said.

This is the sixth attack on Britain this year. Three of the attacks involved a vehicle.

Videos online show the driver being pinned down by police officers.

Britain is on its second highest security level alert.

A car ploughed into pedestrians on London’s Westminster Bridge earlier this year, killing four. The driver then proceeded to stab a police officer to death in front of the city’s parliament.
