The Krishna team won the toss and elected to bowl first. Turned out not to be the best decision as the Marsa opening batsmen Tony Azzopardi and Zubair Raja smashed fifty five runs of the first five overs before Raja was well caught by Matthew Gillard, by then the Krishna team had already dropped three catches. Azzopardi went on to retire making thirty seven runs.

The best innings came from Frank Spiteri who made fifty eight runs from thirty nine balls which included five fours and two sixes. Joy Ghoseroy made seventeen runs not out and extras were a re remarkable twenty two. Six more batsmen batted and between them made nineteen runs. The Marsa team totalled 182 runs from their overs, a total which in the previous week could not make, were they able to defend it. For Krishna Qamar Abbas took three wickets while Bikram Arora took two and Kevin Krishna took one.

The Krishna reply started of pretty rough with Waseem Abbas being caught in the second over for eight runs. Nowell Khosla and John Rusher put on a partnership of fifty six runs in ten overs. Rusher was run out for eight runs. An over later Khosla was out for thirty five runs. With thirteen overs to go the Krishna side needed eight runs an over.

At the crease now were the Master Blaster Haroon Majeed and the Wizard Bikram Arora who completely dominated the Marsa Bowlers. Arora made sixty three runs from twenty seven balls which included four fours and four sixes, Majeed made thirty two from twenty balls which included two fours and a six. An awesome batting display one may say as Krishna won the game. One must also note that there were thirty eight extras as well which did not help the Marsa cause. Sarfraz Ali and Tony Azzopardi were the only wicket takers.

From the win Krishna earned fifteen points while Marsa earned two. Next Saturday thr Krishna team take on Melita. Saturday morning the Sunoco Cricket Academy/nursery will be from 9:00 till 10:30am.
