Valletta ended the season with another disappointing result as they suffered a 2-1 defeat against rivals Ħamrun Spartans.

The Spartans went ahead after nine minutes. Mathieu Manset served Massimiliano Giusti and the latter hit a low shot from the edge of the penalty area that gave Nicky Vella no chance.

Ħamrun doubled thier advantage on the brink of half time. Jake Grech passed the ball towards Manset and the French footballer finished inside the net.

Valletta increased their efforts in the second half and reduced the gap on the 65th minute. Leadro Aguirre sent the ball towards Maximiliano Velasco who headed home.

This result means that if Birkirkara will be successful in their appeal regarding the UEFA licence, Valletta will not participate in Europa League during the coming season.
