Barcelona 3 – Juventus 0

Barcelona made up for last year’s disappointing results against Juventus with a 3-0 win over the Bianconeri. Lionel Messi scored his first two goals against Buffon, while Ivan Rakitic added another.

Benfica 1 – CSKA Moscow 2

Benfica went ahead through Haris Seferovic. However, Vitinho and Timur Zhamaletdinov hit back for the Russians to earn their first three points.

Manchester United 3 – Basel 0

Champions League returned to Old Trafford in style as Manchester United won 3-0 against Basel. Morouane Fellaine sent the Red Devils ahead. Romelu Lukaku increased the score, while Marcus Rashford sealed the issue.

Bayern Munich 3 – Anderlecht 0

Sev Kum’s red card after eleven minutes killed any hopes Anderlecht might have had as Bayern took hold of the game and scored three times. Robert Lewandowski, Thiago Alcantara and Joshua Kimmich scored for the German champions.

Celtic 0 – Paris Saint Germain 5

Celtic were no match for Paris Saint Germain as the French side thrashed them 5-0. Neymar, Mbappe, an own goal by Mikael Lustig and two goals from Cavani ensured ta flying start for PSG.

Chelsea 6 – Qarabak Fk 0

The same can be said for Chelsea. Pedro Rodrigues, David Zappacosta, Cesar Azbilicueta, Tiemoue Bokayoko, Michy Basthuayi and an own goal by Maxsim Mekvedev gave the English champions a 6-0 win.

Roma 0 – Atletico Madrid 0

At home, Roma managed to hold Atletico Madrid in a 0-0 draw.

Olympiacos 2 – Sporting CP 3.

Sporting CP managed to build a 3-0 advantage through Seydou Doumbia, Gelson Martins and Bruno Fernandes. However, Felipe Pardo scored twice in the dying minuts of the match for Olymoiacos.
