Arora received excellent support once again from Haroon Mughal (40 runs). For Marauders, David Marks and Sean Byrne conceded only 14 runs apiece but it was the wily Tony Slater who took the bowling honours with 2 wickets for 11 runs.

Byrne (61 runs) and Marks (45 runs) were also the shining lights in Marauders’ run chase. Chris Belford (2 for 27), Haroon Mughal (2 for 29) and young Ethan Xuereb (2 for 39) shared the wickets for Marsa. A special mention must go to Sid Anand for his tidy spell of 1 for 19. His efforts were instrumental in Marsa’s victory.

Scorers: Eric Balakrishnan and Paula Calleja.

League Standings: Marsa 29, Marauders 13, Krishna 5, Melita 2

This weekend sees Melita face Krishna, with a win imperative for both teams after respective losses in the first round of matches.
