The offensive midfielder, 27, played three seasons at Roma before moving to the French side in 2011.

"I have improved a lot compared to three years ago and I want to show it on the pitch," Menez said before undergoing a medical checkup in a Milan clinic.

"Milan are my priority. Finishing eighth (in the Serie A) is not a good thing. We must be back among the top three teams and also try to win the league."

The Rossoneri, who did not qualify for any continental tournament next season, are expected to undergo major changes under new coach Filippo Inzaghi.

Last week they signed Brazil defender Alex, also a free agent from the French champions.
