There has been much speculation of late about the future of current Nerazzurri Coach Walter Mazzarri and now Mancini, who spent four years at San Siro, winning three Scudetti and two Coppa Italia, is set to replace the former Napoli tactician.

According to reports, President Erick Thohir has decided to replace Mazzarri with the former Manchester City Coach after a poor run of results. And has taken advantage of the International break to make this move.

It is also reported that Mancini will be given a two-and-a-half year contract.

Roberto Mancini's first match incharge will be at the Milan derby on November 23rd.

Immediately after the news of Mancini taking over from Mazzarri, Inter's former goalkeeper Walter Zenga told the press that he was in the race to be Inter's new coach, but Inter President Erick Thohir choose Mancini over him.

Inter made the news official of Mazzarri being relieved from his duties right after the speculation of Mancini being hired as the new coach.

The statement of Walter Mazzarri's dismisal was made official on Inter's website a few moments later.

'FC Internazionale would like to announce that Walter Mazzarri has been relieved of his duties as first team coach. The club would like to thank Mazzarri for the commitment, dedication and professionalism he showed over his 17 months in charge.'
