Balzan back to winning ways, move up to fourth

Balzan finally went out victorious after three months, beating with a solitary goal and moving up to fourth in the table.

Mosta had a player sent off as early as the 28th minute when Kaljevic was shown a straight red card after a horrific tackle on Valero.

One minute before the break, Balzan went close to going in front, hitting the post after a Darmanin header.

In the second half Balzan went looking for the lead and four minutes after the break Zarate, beat a defender and chipped the ball over goalkeeper Borg to put Youths ahead.

Balzan went close again in the 51st minute through a strong shot by Guobadia which was blocked by Borg. Towards the end of the match, Mosta went close to clinching an undeserved draw through a good effort by Dos Santos which was also saved by Sultana.

The end of the match resulted in some nervy challenges and to no surprise to those present in the stadium, both sides had a player sent off. Calcado was sent off for Mosta after collecting two yellow cards to finish the game with nine players, while Guerrero was sent off for Balzan.
