This morning two sides took to the pitch at the Victor Tedesco Stadium in Hamrun, however this was no ordinary match.

A team made up entirely of Corradino Correctional Facility inmates faced a number of MPs, retired footballers and pop singers who got together for the one-off charity match.

Home affairs minister Carmelo Abela, who led the inmates' side in the first half, was joined by the likes of former Malta internationals Carmel Busuttil, Joe Brincat and Raymond Vella.

Even President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca got involved as she kicked off the match which was organised to raise funds for the Community Chest Fund.
