Ivan Cordoba’s trips to Malta are now becoming something of a normality with the Colombian’s recent visit being the third time since his retirement from the game.

During his visit to the Mqabba grounds this morning, Cordoba spoke of his passion for Football and encouraged the youngsters present at the grounds to work hard and progress in the game they love so much.

Cordoba is visiting the islands through the collaboration of the Inter Club PUPI Zanetti Malta and the Maratona tar-Roti which is being organised at the Liceo in Hamrun.

Alongside Cordoba was also former Inter academy player Felice Natalino, who was forced to quit the game due to health issues.

Mqabba organised a one day Football Tournament for players under the age of 12.  Nurseries taking part in the event included Siggiewi, Tarxien, Ghaxaq and Mqabba where along with the collaboration of the Justin Haber Football Academy, the main target of the event was to help collect funds in aid of the Maratona tar-Roti and Italia por Colombia; a foundation which was founded by former Inter Milan defender.
Additionally it is also hoped that through the organisation of the Maratona tar-Roti event, schools and nurseries are provided with trained personell to make use of provided defribillators when needed.

Inter Club Pupi Zanetti Malta will also be organising a training camp at the Luxol grounds on Sunday and a Gala dinner tonight with Ivan Cordoba at the Golden Radisson Sands.
