Floriana FC in court over case involving ex president Vaughan

Case dates back to February 2014 in which Floriana have presented a case against their former president over unpaid wages.

Floriana FC, currently under the management of Italian president Riccardo Gaucci have formally presented a case in court against former president Stephen Vaughan Jnr and son Stephen Vaughan over an unpaid amount to the club.

The case goes back to February 2014 where Stephen Vaughan had ended his two year tenure at the helm of Floriana FC which saw current president Gaucci taking over.

Floriana FC along with representitive lawyer Matthew Paris have stated that the former president is still due to pay the club an amount in the region of 70,000 Euros.  The club further stated that upon taking over the club in August 2012, the Vaughan's had clearly aligned their intentions of looking out for the expenses and salaries of the recruited players from abroad being handled by the Vaughan managament.

The club said both individuals handled the player's contracts and were responsible of recruiting players mostly from the United Kingdom.  Upon filing the case, Floriana allegedly stated that the Vaughan's have failed to honour their part failing to pay a number of monthly salaries to many of their players, some of which have since left the club.  As a consequence, the club has had to deal with the issue which included covering payments to players, coaches and staff.
