Sliema destroy Mosta in one sided match

The Wanderers needed just 11 minutes to open the score through a direct Pedro Calcado free kick which gave Omar Borg no chance.

On 41 minutes Sliema doubled the score when an Obagemiro shot was not held by Borg, the same player attempted a rebound which saw Tyrone Farrugia clearing off the line with the ball however ending to Alex Muscat’s feet who’s fierce shot hit the upright and into the net.

Sliema made it 3-0 16 minutes after the restart when Calcado released Ribeiro who had no difficulty in beating Borg with a low shot.

Man of the match Calcado scored his team’s fourth goal and his personal second just three minutes later after a brilliant solo effort.

Sliema scored the fifth goal on 76 minutes through a penalty taken by Alex Muscat after Tyrone Farrugie had tripped Calcado in the penalty box.

Six minutes from the end, Adrian Borg scored a consolation goal for his Mosta side through a well taken header off a cross from Aaron Sammut.
