Former Juventus striker David Trezeguet said that he was impressed at Malta’s history and heritage, in particular at the beauty of the Grand Harbour.

Trezeguet had given his remarks at the end of a two-day visit to the island, organised by the Maltese Juve supporters’ club Vero Amore. Before departing, the former France international expressed his desire to return to Malta with his family in the near future.

The Vero Amore club’s president Joseph Fenech described Trezeguet as a “role model”, both for his skill on the field and his personal character.

“The Maltese fans could see firsthand how humble and amenable he is, and how much he appreciates the huge respect he receives from his fans,” he said.

Trezeguet was accompanied on his visit by Juve’s former director general Luciano Moggi.

He took part in a VIP event at the Radisson Hotel and an event at the Vero Amore club that was only open to club members.
