Danny Rose rescues a point for Tottenham

James Milner opening goal for Liverpool was cancelled out by Dany Rose, as Tottenham and Liverpool shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

After just four minutes, Liverpool were close to open the score when Philippe Coutinho forced an excellent save from Michel Vorm.

Despite this early chance, Tottenham looked more dangerous. Christian Eriksen saw his effort from a free kick being saved by Mignolet, while Dele Alli missed the target from an ideal position.

As time went by, Liverpool started to put pressure and were denied again by Vorm who managed to neutralise efforts from Sadio Mane and Georginhio Wijnaldum. Few minutes later, the Tottenham goalkeeper saved another Coutinho shot from close range.

Klopp's side managed to break the deadlock three minutes before half time after Eric Lamela fouled Roberto Firmino inside the penalty area. From the resulting penalty, James Milner made no mistake.

Matip was close to double the score for Liverpool on the 53rd minute after his header rattled the crossbar.

Three minutes later, Mane managed to found the back of the net. However, Adam Lallana was judged to have played the ball from an offside position.

Tottenham kept looking for an equaliser as Eriksen saw his effort endng up high, while Mignolet produced two fine saved to keep away Lamela’s free kick and Toby Alderweireld’s header.

Pochettino’s side efforts paid off on the 72nd minute when Lamela flicked on Erikksen’s cross from the right. The ball fell for Rose who placed a low shot past Mignolet to earn his side a point.
