Birkirkara’s good run of results come to an end

At the National Stadium, Sliema Wanderers managed to end Birkirkara’s impressive run of results by beating them 2-1.

Sliema went ahead in the additional time prior to half time when they were awarded a penalty after Joseph Zerafa fouled John Mintoff inside the penalty area. From the resulting penalty, Alex Muscat made no mistake.

The Wanderers doubled the score on the 76th minute. Mathias Muchardi fired a shot that was partially saved by Kopric. The rebound fell for Michel Wisdom Salamon Aka who fired home.

Ten minutes later, the stripes managed to pull one back when Frank Temile finished a close range effort past goalkeeper Glenn Zammit.
