Balzan remain unbeaten in the premier league

Balzan remained the only team who is yet to lose after registering a 2-0 win against Hibernians.

Hibs went close to go ahead on the 49th minute when Renan Pimenta Telles saw his effort hitting the crossbar. Off the rebound, Juan Manuel Varea headed wide.

Balzan had to wait till five minutes from time to open the score. Alfred Effiong was brought down inside the penalty area and Philip Farrugia pointed to the spot. From the penalty spot, Bojan Kaljevic made no mistake.

Oliver Spiteri’s managed to put the result beyond doubt one minute into the additional time when Effiong went past Rudy Briffa and finished inside the net.
