Pembroke Athleta stun Birkirkara

At the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Pembroke Athleta collected their first three points after beating Birkirkira 2-1.

Pembroke managed to go ahead on the 36th minute. Asani Djeljilj’s cross found Adrian Borg who finished past Kopric.

On the brink of half time, Andrea Scozzese was unlucky not to double the score after his effort hit the post.

The stripes managed to equalise on the 61st minute when Frank Temile fired a shot from the edge of the penalty area that ended up behind  Matthew Calleja Cremona.

Winston Muscat’s side hit back and scored the winning goal seven minutes later after Jhonatan Bernardo Mariano fired an angled shot inside the net.
