St. Andrews responded three minutes later. From Joseph Farrugia’s corner, Bong Won Che saw his header hitting the post.

The Paolites went ahead on the 10th minute. The St. Andrews defence failed to completely clear their marks and the ball fell for Jackson Lima. The Brazilian player sent a stunning volley that gave Galea no chance.

St. Andrews tried to push for an equaliser in the second half and had a good opportunity on the 55th minute. From a free kick, Joseph Farrugia fired a shot that went slightly over.

Few minutes later, Hibs had an excellent chance to double the score. Lima managed to find Jurgen Degabriele; however, in front of Galea, the young striker saw his effort going over.

Hibernians suffered a setback on the 64th minute when Joseph Mbong was sent off after receiving his second yellow card.

Despite being a man down, the Hibs defence kept organised to take home an important three points that put them on level with Valletta.
