The Malta Football Association’s vice-president and head of legal Chris Bonnett has resigned from his post, to take up the role of UEFA’s integrity officer, in Nyon, Switzerland.

This is the second high-profile resignation from the MFA in the last week, with the general secretary of the Malta Football Association Bjorn Vassallo having resigned with immediate effect to join the office of the world governing body of football, with FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

Vassallo had held the post since 2010, when Norman Darmanin Demajo became MFA president after seeing off incumbent Joe Mifsud in the election.

Angelo Chetcuti, who recently contested the MFA elections, has now been nominated for the post of general secretary of the MFA.
