Cyprus came from two goals behind to hold Malta in a 2-2 draw.

The Maltese side went ahead on the 36th minute. Kurt Zammit sent a cross inside the penalty area that was met by Joseph Mbong who headed home past George Tasouris.

Kyran Nwoko double the score for Malta on the 56th minute. Nwoko received the ball inside the area and sent a header that ended up inside the net.

Cyprus reduced the margin of the score on the 75th minute. Substitute Marios Ilia went on the left flank before delivering the ball towards Fytos Kyriakou. The Cypriot player finished home from close range.

Ionnois Pittas made the score level five minutes from time. The striker fired a shot that gave Philip Schranz no chance.

Two minutes later, Malta were close to score the winning goal after Jurgen Suda saw his effort hitting the post.
