BOV Premier League | Balzan 4 – Pembroke 0

Balzan remained the leaders of the BOV Premier League as they registered a comfortable 4-0 win over Pembroke.

Pembroke had an excellent chance after just three minutes. Asani Djeljilj went on the left flank and delivered a cross towards Oleksandr Maksymov. The Ukranian footballer fired a low shot that hit the post.

After this chance, Balzan took control of possession and went ahead on the 13th minute. Bojan Kaljevic sent a low shot that gave Matthew Calleja Cremona no chance.

Balzan doubled the score on the 33rd minute. Samir Arab went on a good run before beating Calleja Cremona with a shot from the right.

Oliver Spiteri’s side scored again on the brink of half time. Kaljevic went past a defender before finishing inside the net.

Pembroke had a golden opportunity to reduce the margin of the score on the 63rd minute. Manolito Micallef delivered a cross towards the unmarked Adrian Borg who in front of goal finished wide.

Balzan scored their fourth goal on the 88th minute. Kaljevic was brought down inside the penalty area by Calleja Cremona and the referee whistled for a penalty. From the eleven metres mark, the Montenegrin player made no mistake to register his hat-trick.
