Balzan went ahead on the 41st minute. Clive Brincat served Matteo Piciollo and the latter went down the left flank before firing a shot that gave Mauro Boerchio no chance.

The Maroons hit back and equalised three minutes later when Juan Carlos Corbalan found Ricardo Calixto Correa Duarte who finished inside the net from close range.

The leaders increased pressure in their attempts to take home the three points and their efforts paid off on the 84th minute. From a free kick, Alan da Silva Souza hit a shot that was partially saved by the opposing goalkeeper. From the rebound, Piciollo slotted the ball inside the net.
