FA Trophy | Vittoriosa 1 – Senglea 2

In a game between two first division sides, Senglea needed extra time to earn a 2-1 win that ensured their qualification to the quarter finals.

Senglea went ahead on the 28th minute. Following a corner, the Vittoriosa defence failed to clear their lines and Austin Obaje-Smith headed inside the net from close range distance.

Vittoriosa managed to equalise on the 74th minute. From a corner, Wilson Abela sent a cross inside the penalty area towards Andreas Galea who headed past Jonathan Martinelli.

Terence Vella scored the winning goal for Senglea ten minutes into extra time. The striker received the ball from Hubert Vella and hit a strong shot that gave James Mercieca no chance.
