BOV Premier League | Sliema Wanderers 2 – Ħamrun Spartans 0

Matias Muchardi and Ricardo Correa Duarte were on target for Sliema as the Wanderers earned a 2-0 win over Ħamrun Spartans.

Sliema created the first chance on goal after twenty minutes. Mark Scerri went on a good run and hit a powerful drive that went high.

Ħamrun responded on the 27th minute. From a free kick, Leandro Wallace Motta Dos Santos fired a stunning shot that hit the woodwork.

On the 55th minute, Denni Rocha Dos Santos sent a shot from a free kick that ended up slightly high.

The Wanderers kept on insisting in attack and were unlucky on the 63rd minute. From a corner, Denni sent a cross towards Stefano Biaciardi whose header hit the post.

Jacques Scerri’s side responded on the 69th minute. Mathieu Manset sent a shot from distance which was saved by Giuseppe Sarao.

Sliema’s efforts paid off on the 75th minute. Matias Muchardi hit a shot from the edge of the penalty area that gave David Cassar no chance.

John Buttigieg’s side sealed the issue on the 90th minute. Denni sent a dangerous cross inside the penalty area towards Correa Duarte whose first time finish ended up past Cassar.
