Sliema went close to open the score on the 19th minute. Leonardo Incorvaia hit a shot that forced a great save from Andreas Vella.

Mosta replied by going ahead. Pedro Calcado dos Santos sent a powerful drive that hit the post. Rebound fell for Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza who palced the ball inside the net.

However, Mosta suffered a setback on the 35th minute as they had Calcado sent off after receiving two yellow cards in less than a minute.

Sliema tried to take an advantage and had a promising chance on the 45th minute. Alex Muscat’s shot from distance was well saved by Vella.

The Wanderers equalised on the 54th minute. Ricardo Calixto Correa Duarte fired a stunning shot from a free kick that gave Vella no chance.

In the remaining minutes, Mosta defended well to earn a vital point that could prove crucial.
