Gżira United secured their third consecutive win after registering a 2-1 victory over Tarxien Rainbows.

The Maroons went ahead on the 33rd minute. Amadou Samb was brought down by Andrea Cassar and the referee pointed towards the spot. From the elven metres mark, the same player finished inside the net.

Darren Abdilla’s side increased the margin of the score two minutes inside the second half. Following a cross, Ndubisi Emmanuel Okoye placed the ball behind Cassar.

Tarxien reduced the margin of the score in the additional time given by the referee. Darmanin served Artur Benes and the latter finished home from close range.
