Floriana produced a solid performance that saw them overcoming St Andrews 4-0.

The greens went ahead after twenty five minutes. Maurizio Vella sent a shot that was parried by Matthew Calleja Cremona. Rebound fell for Mario Fontanella whose initial effort was cleared off the line; however, the striker took charge of the second rebound and headed home.

Floriana ended up in ten men on the 33rd minute as Steve Pisani was shown a straight red card following a foul on Tano Azian.

St Andrews were reduced to ten men as well on the 76th minute. Tano Azian was sent off after receiving his second yellow card.

This red card completely disoriented St Andrews as they lost concentration and conceded three other goals in the space of a few minutes.

On the 82nd minute, Ignacio Varela hit a powerful shot that ended up inside the net.

Tedesco’s side made it 3-0 on the 89th minute. Following a cross, Enzo Ruiz headed past Calleja Cremona.

A minute later, Floriana were awarded a penalty. Leighton Grech was brought down inside the penalty area and the referee pointed towards the spot. From the elven metres mark, Ignacio Varela converted.
