Maltese racer Keith Camilleri will miss the next round of the FIA Formula 4 Italian Championship in Monza this weekend, due to ‘financial difficulties’.

“It is extremely disappointing to have to cancel my participation for Monza but we’ve been stretching out our budget for faar too long and it was only a matter of time,” Camilleri said. “Unfortunately, we were not able ot secure enough sponsorship in time, and while we will try and find enough funds to at least make the final round at Imola, we are now also starting to secure my participation for 2015.”

“We know it won’t be easy but we are determined to find a solution.

“At the end of the day, we knew it was going to be hard to make it to the end,” Camilleri said. “Having said that, considering that this was our first year, and we got the call only a few weeks before the start of the championship the odds were always stacked against us and it is only with the determination and dedication of a select group of people that I manage to compete.”

Meanwhile, Camilleri’s team-mate Zachery Dante will also miss out on this round due to a hand injury he sustained at Vallelunga. Malta’ line-up at Monza will therefore be composed of Mattija Drudi, Giovanni Altoe, and Raghunathan Mahaveer.
