The end is near of all the ASMK Championships as more events are taking place in this third phase of events. On Sunday the Trials section will be holding the fifth activity from eight events of the championship. It will be held at the ASMK sports complex at Ta’ Qali from 9am till about 1pm.

Meanwhile, an overview of the classification up to the last event shows that in Class A, Damon Bonello is in competition for the lead with Robert Caruana. Both riders are on Gas Gas motorcycles. Bonello is leading the classification on 80 points while Caruana follows on 60. The rating continues to show that Rowen Bonello on Beta is in third place with 54 points while Gary Debono is fourth on his Sherco machine with 47 points.

In Class B the race for the lead is interesting and lies between three competitors. Joseph Scicluna on a Gas Gas enjoys a small advantage on his followers. Joseph, who occupies the top rank, has 80 points.

He is closely followed by Bernard Sammut on a Beta and Manuel Camilleri on a Gas Gas. Sammut and Camilleri are currently both listed in second place with 64 points each. Both are preparing themselves well for this Sunday’s race to improve their ranking. The classification continues with Daniel Caruana and Ian Scicluna, both on a Gas Gas machine, who occupy the fourth and fifth places respectively.

Meanwhile the association is currently doing the necessary preparations for the first event in Gozo during this year’s Championship calendar.

The Enduro Section, together with some ASMK officials will be holding an Enduro Championship competition in San Lawrenz. This will be held on Sunday, 26th April and the event is open to all Maltese and Gozo Enduro racers and enthusiasts.

This event is made possible through the Minister for Gozo, Anton Refalo, the Gozo Sports Board and the Gozo Tourism Authority.

The association has planned a number of motorsport events which will be held in Gozo. This is the result of the ASMK race organisation experience held in Gozo. These events contribute to the Gozo motorcycling sport events riders and contribute in the field of Sport-Tourism between the two islands.

As is now common practice ASMK holds a Car and a Motorcycle motorsport event annually in Gozo, mainly to raise funds in aid of ‘Dar Arka’.
