Klikk Easter International Swim Meeting 2015

The Klikk Easter International swim meet will start on today at 5pm and carry on for the following 2 days finally culminating on Saturday with the final session starting at 4pm.

The Easter international is always an important competition for the Maltese swimmers as it is the only international swimming competition held in Malta and it gives all our swimmers from the juniors to the seniors a chance to compete against foreign swimmers. This year the competition has an extra edge to it as we will see Malta’s top swimmers trying to get their final qualification
standards for the GSSE games that will be held later this year in Iceland.

In action over the weekend spectators will be treated to some exciting racing that should see both National and age group records broken. Malta’s top swimmer of the last few years, Andrew Chetcuti, has flown back to Malta specifically to join his fellow National Team mates and his presence should make the men’s 100m Freestyle event on Saturday morning an event not to be missed. For the girls our top female international Nichola Muscat will be hoping to head an ever improving girls’ team to new heights in their bid to qualify in the relay events for the GSSE.

All the Malta National Team members will be easily spotted during the competition thanks to their on-going sponsorship from Klikk computers as they will be wearing the new Malta team caps that were presented to them on Wednesday afternoon at the National pool. Klikk also sponsored Mono Fins for the ASA development squad. These fins are an important training aid to improve the swimmers’ underwater sections of the various swimming events.
