The Aquamasters is an annual event held in Marmaris and consists of a series of short course championship races spread over three days and held under Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA) rules and age group structures.  The event is very popular and was also attended by Adam Walker, who is the first British man to swim the seven Oceans in the World.

Zarb took part in the 6km open water race competing against 280 swimmers from all over the world. Zarb completed the course in a time of 1 hour and 32 minutes, a few seconds short of the first swimmer.

“The Aquamasters was one of the races I wanted to attend in preparation for the 6th leg of the Ligue Européenne de Natation (LEN) Open Water Cup 2016 which will be hosted in Malta in September 2016”, commented Zarb after the race.

Zarb who returned to competitive swimming after a four-year absence was satisfied with her timing which was the same clocked during this summer’s Gozo – Malta Open Water Swim, for which she won second place on the podium.
Zarb is now working towards her aspiration to participate in the European Masters Open water championships in Rijeka (Croatia) in September 2016.

The 6th leg of the LEN Open Water Cup will be hosted by the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta and organised by Birkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club. This prestigious event which will be held in early in Autumn 2016 will see top European swimmers coming to Malta most of whom will be vying for places in the World Championships.
