Murray brushes aside Haase

Andy Murray hardly broke sweat as the British number one strolled into the Wimbledon third round with a straight-sets victory over Robin Haase.

In stark contrast to Tuesday's match where Murray toiled a little in 35 degree heat, the Scot thrived at a cooler, cloudier Wimbledon as he produced some of his best tennis.

The veteran Dutchman actually played well at times, particularly in the third set.

But every time he threatened, 2013 champion Murray simply moved up another gear with the same unanswerable variety of shotmaking that saw him cruise to the title at Queen's Club 11 days ago.

Even in the final game of the match Haase pushed hard, provoking a lengthy rally as Murray was two points away from the match.

But as the underdog charged the net seemingly set to kill off the point, Murray beat him with a crosscourt winner that dipped so sharply over the net it inspired Haase to literally stand applauding his opponent for producing a shot that was literally unplayable.
