Fabio Capello has apologised for his controversial World Cup rating index, after poor marks for his England flops were revealed all over the English papers and websites.

All the Three Lions players fared badly and Capello, who is co-founder of the scheme, had promised his FA bosses last week any scores would not be made public.

Capello jnr said: "Fabio is very sorry and upset this has happened." he said, according to The Sun.

"We had told the FA there would not be any ratings appearing on any of the England players.

"So to find out that the opposite has happened just a day later was something we were unhappy about.

"There is no commercial value in this to Fabio - he was just interested to see and compare how the statistics would compare with his own evaluations.

"These are not Fabio's ratings and we are now looking to have his name removed from the title."
