Up to €10,000 in seed funding is being made available to help Malta’s hospitality businesses adopt practical, low-waste and resource-efficient practices, as the 2025 Zero Waste HoReCa Seed Fund Competition opens applications for sustainability projects

The 2025 Zero Waste HoReCa Seed Fund Competition will award up to €10,000 to support Malta’s hospitality businesses in implementing practical sustainability projects that reduce waste, conserve resources, and lower environmental impact

 The Zero Waste HoReCa Programme provides hospitality operators with training, resources, and expert guidance to adopt practical, cost-effective sustainability measures across their operations.

AKTI Project and Research Centre, with funding from The Coca-Cola Foundation, announces the launch of the 2025 Zero Waste HoReCa Seed Fund Competition, offering €10,000 in seed funding to support sustainability initiatives within Malta’s hospitality industry.

The competition is open to Members of the Zero Waste HoReCa Network and aims to accelerate the sector’s transition toward more efficient, environmentally responsible operations. Funding will be distributed among up to 20 businesses proposing impactful projects focused on:

  • Waste reduction
  • Water conservation
  • Energy efficiency
  • Lowering CO₂ emissions

Application details

Eligible businesses are invited to submit their proposals through the official application form.
