iGaming’s leading training provider, the iGaming Academy has teamed up with the European Gaming Institute of Malta (EGIM) and Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) to launch the first iGaming focused course which will be available to over 1,000 ICT students at the college as of March 2017. This course is described as a ‘pilot’ course which will ultimately raise awareness regarding the industry and the industry opportunities.

As Malta continues to build on its success within the iGaming industry and reach new heights with over 9,000 active employees expected throughout 2017 as well as a higher contribution to the country’s GDP, it is essential that more initiatives are developed to help further secure and grow this market.

“The iGaming industry continuously requires highly skilled ICT professionals to join its workforce, by merging an industry recognised iGaming course with the MCAST Batchelor of Science courses related to ICT, students will now be given more opportunities to explore the iGaming industry as a possible career path” said Jaime Debono, MD of the iGaming Academy.

Thomas Mahoney, the Project Director at EGIM, reflected that “Education and training are fundamental to the growth of any industry, so it is only a matter of time until Digital and iGaming become an educational career path for most students”.

Vince Maione & Conrad Vassallo at MCAST mentioned “We are also exploring ways to include other key studies related to the iGaming industry to the full-time and also the part-time courses in other institutes apart from ICT to prepare students for the various employment opportunities that the iGaming industry is creating such as fraud and security, legislation, product knowledge, business analytics and marketing”
