Onorato Armatori Group expands weekly passenger services to Catania

Onorato Armatori Group will be expanding its operations to include eight new weekly passenger services connecting Malta to Catania port.

The service comprises of four departures from both ports, in addition to the existing services, with timings set to cater for the market requirements, particularly the fresh foods sector.

The vessel, the MN Barbara Krahulik, has a capacity of 1,500 linear meters, will be carrying both trailers and any type of accompanied vehicles. According to the company, the new schedule will allow trailer operators to further improve their service performance in terms of transit and delivery times.

Onorato Armatori will also introduce an additional vessel,  a Ro-Ro Vessel with a capacity of 3,500 linear meters and 27 knots speed, to complement other Vessels on the Genova-Livorno-Catania route.

In 2017 both Moby Lines and Tirrenia continued to register a strong growth. In February, the trend was very positive with a 10% increase of the cargo traffic, doubled as compared to previous month. Taking Sicily on its own, the increase in the first two months of 2017 has been of 24%.
