The Medical Tennis Association (Malta) will be hosting the 48th edition of the annual World Medical Tennis Society Tournament & Congress this year. This prestigious event was held last in Malta 12 years ago and this year the organising committee has chosen to favour Malta once again with this event.

The MTA has gone to great lengths in order to ensure that this tournament is organised to the highest standards possible, whilst at the same time capitalising on Malta’s beauty and superb location. Special evenings such as the Cultural Night have been specifically organized to show off Valletta in all its glory and a separate evening will see Presidents of the Delegations taking a guided tour of Mdina with a lavish dinner at one of its prestigious restaurants.

The Medical Congress and Tournament will be held mainly at the Marsa Sports Club with the Tennis Club Kordin and Vittoriosa Lawn Tennis Club being used as satellite sites.

Dr Lawrence Scerri, the President of the MTA, stated that this event is the flagship event of the World Medical Tennis Society and the fact that the MTA has managed to lobby Malta and win the rights to organize this event is a big step for sports tourism in Malta.

The event will be held from September 29th – October 5, 2018 and will see approximately 250 doctors flying in from all over the world in order to participate.
