In what was supposed to be a normal run-of-the-mill birthday celebration in Valletta for a group of Maltese rock fans ended up in a spontaneous impromptu rendition of Wonderwall with none other than former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher.

Gallagher is currently in Malta on holiday after landing in Malta on Thursday. Word spread that the British rock star was at a bar in Valletta and in a matter of minutes, a group of around 20 friends descended to the bar, and joined Gallagher himself in an impromptu version of the Oasis classic Wonderwall.

“We headed there, around 20 of us, got drink and started speaking to him. We were with Peter Borg, from Red Electrick, so we soon got a guitar and started singing together,” Albert Camilleri told Lovin Malta.

Before they knew it, they were all singing the classic Wonderwall.

“He even wanted Peter to play some of his own songs, which he really liked. I'm not the biggest fan but my friends were in a dream. Every five seconds they were like: Is this really happening? Am I really singing Wonderwall with Liam Gallagher?”
