X Factor winner Michela Pace can’t wait to represent Malta at the upcoming Eurovision song contest in Tel Aviv.

The 18-year-old was at Castille this afternoon where she was congratulated on her win by Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and Justice Minister Owen Bonnici.

Pace said she was excited for what lay ahead and that she hoped to grow as an artist through the Eurovision experience.

“The journey has already been amazing so far, I’ve already learned so much from the judges, I can't thank them enough... and no doubt I will continue to learn more as I begin the journey towards the Eurovision. I can't wait!" she said.

"At the moment though, I'm enjoying spending time with my family and friends back home."

Pace was crowned the winner of the first season of X factor Malta last weekend and will go on to represent Malta at the Eurovision in Tel Aviv. Pace also won a contract with Sony Music Italy.

She first stunned Maltese audiences with her cover of the song Total Eclipse of the Heart by Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler, where she got four yeses from the Panel of judges and even prompted Ira Losco to get emotional and cry during the performance.

After the show premiered, Pace's performance went viral on Facebook.
