Internet operators breach consumers law
A number of mobile phone and Internet providers infringe consumer law over claims of “unlimited” services.
The Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA) has found Melita Plc, Melita Mobile Limited, GO Plc, Mobisle Communications Limited and Vodafone Malta Limited guilty of infringing consumer law.
The MCCAA decided that the operators infringed the Consumer Affairs Act by means of "unfair commercial practices in connection with the services provided by them by means of the use of the word 'unlimited' and other expressions that give the same message or indication to the consumer and that it that there is no limit and that there are no conditions that act as limits; whereas there is a limit imposed by the operators."
