New terms set to lower operational costs of Air Malta’s Manchester route

A new Air Malta Manchester route will be operated every Tuesday as of May 2018: ‘Additional frequencies are being studied’

Air Malta will be returning to Manchester as from May 2018.

"In line with its growth strategy Air Malta is committed to continue expanding its routes and flight frequencies to Europe's main airports,” Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi said.

“Air Malta's decision takes into account a number of factors including the new aggressive commercial strategy, soon to be launched new product and changes in fees and a renewed commercial agreement with a major Tour Operator who will be committing a number of seats on each flight.”

Paul Sies, Air Malta Chief Commercial Officer added: “We are thrilled that we be back to Manchester initially with a once a week frequency every Tuesday. Additional frequencies are being studied at this moment.

“Over the past weeks our sales team worked really hard to source new commercial opportunities and team up with major industry players to restart this route. All past contracts in relation to the flight operation have been revisited and new negotiated terms are expected to lower the cost of operation.”

The re-introduction of Manchester is yet another proof of the new growth strategy of Air Malta, the national airline stressed. Earlier Frankfurt, Tunis and Tel Aviv were announced.
